Meet the Doulas

Hi there ❤ I’m Lori, the lady behind Doulas of Gothenburg and founder of Om Baby & Wellness, Gothenburg. I am a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) and Postpartum Nurse as well as a DONA International trained Postpartum Doula, Postpartum Doula Instructor, and fingers crossed soon to be IBCLC (Amningsexpert). I am a member of the ICEA and nurse writer for AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses). The part of being a nurse that I love most is the work of a doula. That is why I decided a year ago to leave bedside nursing behind and follow my heart. My passion is supporting parents-to-be on their journey to meet their baby and in the early days after.
In my spare time, I love to travel with my Swede and cherish every moment with family and friends. I am ballet, flamenco, and food obsessed 💗
Doulas of Gothenburg started as a hashtag and an idea. I wanted to bring doula support to the diverse, multilingual community that is Gothenburg. It has since grown to include some of the most passionate, brightest, and strongest group of international doulas supporting the Gothenburg community. How can I support you?
This is me KLARA @equilibrium_doula. I’m originally from the UK 🇬🇧 although I’ve lived here in Sweden for 11 years now and feel just as comfortable speaking Swedish at a birth as I do English. I have 3 children (a pre teen eight and a half year old who’s currently driving me crazy and five year old twins who think they own the world. They all rock my world 🤘🏻 I’m a true birth geek and love anything to do with pregnancy birth and the postpartum period. I’m an ODIS certified birth doula. 💜 I’ve recently trained with @ombabygothenburg as a postpartumdoula and I’m also the regional coordinator for Amningshjälpen the Swedish breastfeeding help organisation. My passion is making a hospital birth feel as comfy and cosy as a home birth as not everyone can afford the home birth price tag. I’m also getting more and more interested in birth photography and love documenting birth through pictures for the couples I support. 💜
Outside of the birth world I love retro Scandinavian furniture, bedding, slogan tees , cups of tea ☕️ and tattoos.
Lots of love,
K!
My name is Maëva- I was born and raised in France, came to study and found love here in Gothenburg. It’s been 10 years and together with my Swedish husband we have two very talkative daughters who just turned 6 and 7. As a postpartum doula trained with Om Baby, and soon to be birth doula, my aim is that you – parents and parents to be- feel listened to, supported, and empowered during the wonderful and vulnerable journey that having a baby and becoming parents is. Moreover, as a yoga teacher specialised in pregnancy/postpartum and children, ”Birth with confidence” (Föda utan rädsla) and Baby massage instructor, I want to give you simple tools to be used in everyday life to contribute to your and your baby’s physical and emotional wellbeing. Native French speaker, I am also fluent in Swedish and English. Outside of the children/perinatal and yoga bubble, I love books and stories, going to cultural performances (theatre, dance, music), singing (I am not very good at it, but it definitely saved many nights and travels!), black coffee, cheeses and desserts.

My name is Emmanuelle @erzuliedoula. I was born in Haiti and grew up all over the world. I have lived in Sweden for 17 years and speak English, Swedish, French and Spanish fluently. I have two children, 15 and 3 years old, who are by far the most miraculous people in my life and giving birth to them was an incredible experience, both times. I love pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding and everything that follows – the craziness, the calm, the tender moments, the incredible love and even the lows, because they too help us grow. I am an ODIS-registered doula, an active member of Amningshjälpen, and I’ve recently become a postpartum doula through @ombabygothenburg. I would like to help you to have the most fulfilling pregnancy and childbirth experience possible and be your staunch advocate when and where you need it. I will also stand by you after the birth to help you and your family settle in to your new life, for as long as you need me. When I’m not swooning over pregnancy, childbirth and tiny babies, I dance Flamenco and work with human rights issues focusing on gender equality, anti racism and LGBTQ rights. I like to read and write, discuss current events with wild gesticulations and chat about everything and nothing over a coffee. I am a big fan of chocolate and doulas, equally. My friends think I’m pretty funny as do my children (well of course they do).I look forward to meeting you!❤️ Emmanuelle
My name is Georgia, @brainwavebirthing. I’m from England and have lived here in Gothenburg for 5 years with my husband and now our kids, aged 4 and 2 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. I am a birth and postpartum doula trained with Conscious Birthing UK, and have worked in both English and Swedish. I am also a researcher in neuroscience 🧠 at the University of Gothenburg. I find there is so much overlap between my birth work and neuroscience, and I am driven to help people look after their minds so that they can have a better birth experience and time postpartum 😊. I am also a singer, foodie and love dancing around my kitchen 💜
I’m Saga, Doula since 2005. I have two kids (18 and 15) that I birthed at home with my husband, a midwife and an amazing doula. For me, womens’ rights in childbirth, and the right to birth where you want to, was one of the main reasons I became a doula. I truly want every mother to feel seen and confident in the choices she and her partner have concerning the birth of their child. By now i have been to planned homebirths, ”homelike” hospital births, routine hospital births, and both planned and unplanned c-sections. I HAVE LOVED THEM ALL!
